You can tell a lot about people by what they value. The same goes for a church. The best way to tell you about who we are is to show you what we value. The simplest answer is we value you-- whoever you are, wherever you're from. But let's get a bit more specific...

Jesus surprised the world, so we will too.

The world has come to expect the Church to be one thing- judgmental, solemn, exclusive – but Jesus shows us something completely different in Scripture. He shocked the people of His day with His love, His acceptance, His compassion, His words, His death, and His life. That’s the kind of people we want to be.

We will be known by what we are for.

Jesus was all about people, so we are too.

Over and over again in the Gospels, Jesus shows us that people are His priority. Whether it was His gentle acceptance of the woman at the well (John 4) or His compassion for the masses (Mt 9:36), Jesus’ focus was on showing, living, and sharing the love of the Father. We want to be the kind of people who point everyone we come into contact with toward that same love- be it on Sunday mornings, discipleship groups, or being kind to the attendant at the gas station –

We will be fully present and intentional in our relationships.

Jesus gave big, so we will too.

We, every one of us, have a certain reserve of time, talent, and treasure. In Scripture, Jesus displays a shocking level of generosity and open-handedness with His reserves. We want to be the people with the “Yes” faces in our community- yes, we will take time to be with those who need; yes, we will support one another with our energy and skill; yes, we will give joyfully and unreservedly to the Mission of Jesus.

We will use what we have to make a difference in our community.
