Building a Big Faith

1 John 5:4  For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith. 

Faith is:

• Seeing the Unseen 

Ephes. 3:20  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 

Gen. 15: 1-6  

• Risking Failure

2 Cor. 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.       

Mark 5:25-29 …When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment…  

Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. 

• Training your Expectations 

Matthew 9:29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” 

• Waiting for the Answer   

Psalm 40:1  I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. 

Gal.  6:9  And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 

Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 

1. 3 Steps to a Bigger Faith

1.  Trust God to Help You

Matthew 17:20 … I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 

2. Pray Like God Really is on Your Side

Matthew 21:22  And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” 

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. 

3. Believe What the Bible Says

Mark 9:23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” 

John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 

1 Samuel 3:1    And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; 

Matthew 9:27-30  Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”
